ESA finally strikes on the moon!!!

News from the internet that European Space Agency (ESA)'s SMART-1 crashed onto the moon purposely, which means the spacecraft's purpose is to collect scientific data.

SMART-1 actually made repeated orbits of the moon until it managed to crash into the moon during one of its closest approach - called perhilion in scientific terms.

For more details, go to http://www.esa.int/esaCP/index.html

BYE BYE PLUTO !!!

Textbooks have to be rewritten because of one thing. PLUTO !!!

Pluto is now consdiered a dwarf planet and not a planet. A planet is a celestial body that has cleared its surrounding debris except for its settalites.

Other dwarf planets include Ceres (from the asteroid Belt), Charon (PLuto's largest moon), Pluto itself, and the recently nicknamed Xena dwarf planet.

A dwarf planet does not obey the definition in the second paragraph but it has suffiecient mass to be round.

Pluto also has two more moons, which may not be dwarf planets, Hydra and Nix. There may be even more we don't know yet.

But one of the furthest dwarf planet from the sun may be Sedna. Although it is extremely far away, some people speculate it might be a dwarf planet.

That's the end of the news of BYE-BYE PLUTO !!!.

Stress

Stress is created when your mind is in a dillemma.(Mainly) There is no proper cure for stress but stress is really important and you should care about it.

Stress can cause flu (not bird flu!), and in the past, well...smallpox! One cure is

1.breathing very hard
2.drinking some cold water,
3. and, smiling!

and many more from Ms Rita at www.ch-gepers-06.blogspot.com

Take note though, there are no limits for stress and like i said, it can cause dieseases, good stress(the ones that are beneficial) and bad ones.

Singaporeans: Who are we?

A singaporean is a hum......

Alright, a singaporean is a person who lives in Singapore. To answer the question, let's take a look at what Singapore is.

Singapore is a very small country, but it lies on the trade route between Europe and China. Singapore is one of the ports for boats to stop and resume their journey to China.(With Africa and India too).

Due to this, the population has grown for a steady rate in the 19th century. However, in the 20th century, the population grew quite a lot, but not technology. Then, in the Japanese occupation, the population of Chinese dropped a significant amount. After that, the technology caught up with people, and HDB flats were constructed.(Not to mention the E-dictionary in our school ! )

The technology made a lot of people in Singapore brilliant and clever. Many people wish that Singapore would be better but i think that's almost enough. Everyone makes mistakes.

Note: This message for Queen Amidalah (a.k.a Ms Rita) and my classmates and some other good friends of mine.

The e-dictionary in our school

I just can't imagine that. Why do we have an e-dictionary in our country? The e-dictionary is a chinese computer dictionary created by the CREATIVE company.

A dictionary of this type is needed because I think most pupils are often failing in their chinese and not been able to achieve high standards of Chinese. Not only that, the SEAB has said that this could be used for chinese examinations. Um, are we fortunate enough to have that, or do other countries already have it?

What fine people we are!

Penalties are important because they remind us how bad it is to commit an offence like littering. Most people don't like penalties but they actually help people learn the seriousness of an offence, especially kids.

Although we are not a "free of offence" country, we can do our part to help other people. When a person, spits or litters, we can remind him/her the punishment he/she can get. Then, the person will immediately know what to do and will never commit the offence again.

HI!

Today's topic is about Ps and Cs (Phrases and Clauses)

First, i would like to talk something about attributes.
What makes a hat a hat? The answer can be found by listing all the attributes of all hats and finding similar attributes. These attributes are called essential attributes. They are important because they differentiate hats from other things.

Second, Pharses have essential attributes too. They don't have a subject, is part of a predicate, and is part of a sentence.Clauses do have essential attribues too. They are an idea of a sentence, and of course, they are part of a sentence.

Code-switching in English.

I heard the sentence in class "One found the need to learn code-switching the most difficult."

Code-switching is the switching between SSE(Standard Singapore English) and SCE(Singapore Colloquial English) in a paticular person.
SCE may also be called singlish.

I think code-switching is important because some people will know more SSE than others. For example, you should use SCE when talking to the man in a hawker centre. But you should use SSE when talking to the principle because it's more polite to do that.
